Grobus is working on its second season
The Grobus, the latest strategic move of Monbus and Grove’s Hotel Management Society, closes its first year with near 7000 passengers since its start last July 14th. This high number of passengers shows the warm welcome of this service, not only by tourists but as locals as well. The citizen’s of this town have benefit from this alternative transportation system which, during almost two months, has joined the most popular places in town.
With 12 shifts per day and extensive working hours, since 11 am to 6 am, this touristic bus has solved a series of problems such as traffic jams, parking problems at the beach and drunken driven among many others.
Without any doubt, the support and help of the associate establishments (such as campings, hotels, restaurants, bars, pubs, cafés and shops add to a total of 70 entities) has been decisive for spreading the word about a service whose biggest incentive has been the discount on the final ticket price given by buying in the associate entities.
After closing this first season, Monbus and Grove’s Hotel Management Society have months of hard work ahead of them, in order to improve the Grobus’ services, easying the mobility of passengers in the summer months. Some of the improvements planned are extending the working season of this service including June’s weekends, the whole months of July and August and the weekends of September until the Seafood Festival. We are thinking as well of starting the service at 9am, therefore our passengers could travel to their working places.
Even though this special service has come to its end, Monbus has regular lines to O Grove, A Toxa and from O Grove - San Vicente. The company also offers the chance to hire vehicles with a driver or without.
