Success of the Grobus this summer in O Grove
Since the last 14th of July, Monbus, in collaboration with the Hostelry Association of O Grove, had started up a circular bus route which travel around the most important places of the municipality. Under the slogan “Get on the Grobus and enjoy the summer”, the initiative offers an alternative service of transportation on the locality.
The 20 kilometres of journey starts at the Bus Station of the locality at 11 on the morning, continuing till the 6 on the morning of the next day. The complete tour has a length of 45 minutes, 20 stops and 12 daily frequency, the Grobus facilitates the movement of travellers, even arriving to the Toja Island in 3 of the 12 services.
Another of the stated items is the availability of bonus of the price of the ticket when doing a minimum purchase on the different associated establishments. The ticket, which has a unique price of 1€, permits make the complete tour and can be purchased on any of the participating businesses, with the possibility of purchase on the bus with an extra charge of 0,40 €, being then the total 1,40€.
Campings, hotels, museums, restaurants, “taperías”, pubs and cafeterias swell the list of establishments joined to this initiative in force till the 31st of August, that way the mobility on the high tourist season.
Since its inception, the initiative has been very well accepted, being around 2500 users, among tourists and inhabitants, who had benefit from the advantages of this new mobility service. It is not surprising that on a tourist bus the frequencies more used match with the times of arrival and return of the beaches, 11 on the morning, and 5 and 8 on the afternoon, as well as that the nightly one, at 2 on the morning is the peak hour in respect of occupancy.
Hardly 3 weeks has been necessary to determine the success of a novel transport that in its bet to offer a better service, and attending to suggestions received, will embed the possibility to travel comfortably with pets, for that reason Monbus will improve the trunk of the bus with the approved equipment.
As well as this new service, Monbus offers their regular lines with destination to O Grove, A Toxa and between O Grove - San Vicente. The company completes its offer with the possibility of renting vehicles with driver and without driver.
