Monbus tranfers Ukrainian refugees
Since the beginning os the war conflict that affects the population Ukraine, Monbus is taking part in different actions collaborating to help the affected people.
Action with the Community of Madrid
Last 11th March a joint humanitarian action was launched between Monbus, the Community of Madrid, the AFE Foundation (Spanish Footballers Association) and the Unitary Coordination of Professional Firemen (CUBP) in order to help people of Ukraine.
On Friday a convoy loaded with three tonnes of food and medical supplies left the Zendal Hospital in Madrid and travelled across Europe until it arrived in Krakow on Sunday 13 March. Once there and having delivered all the goods to the Ukrainian families, the convoy left Krakow again with 41 refugees who arrived on 16 March in Madrid where they will be welcomed by the community.
Javier Cuesta, General Director of Monbus, received the refugees in the hospital together with David Aganzo, president of the AFE Foundation and Carlos Novillo, vice-counselor of Interior and Director of the Security and Emergencies Agency Madrid 112 of the Community of Madrid.
Action with the Santiago de Compostela University
On the other hand, Monbus together with members of the Political Research Team of the University of Santiago de Compostela has travelled to the border of Poland with Ukraine, to the city of Rzeszow.
There they were able to deliver more than fives tons of sanitary material and food to attend the needs of the refugees thanks also to the collaboration of the NGO AGA Ukraine and the City Council of Ares .They set off on their return journey together with 47 refugees who arrived in Santiago on Thursday 17 March.
