Monbus is concerned with the environment
Monbus celebrates the World Environmental Day obtaining two certifications focused on an efficient and sustainable management of energy consumption and on reducing the emissions of Greenhouse gas (GEI) in accordance with the regulations ISO 50001 and ISO 14064.
According to the methods established by the ISO 50001 standard, up to 17 companies adhere to Monbus will reduce considerably their energy consumption and consequently the greenhouse gas emissions. Monbus has thereby joined the fight against climate change, establishing a policy of energy economy and improvement targets on the use of energy concerned to our activities, while contributing to a more efficient and sustainable use of resources.
Although the public transport represents one of the best options to minimize the GEI emission, in Spain, almost the 25% of the total comes from this sector. That’s why the environmental commitment adopted by Monbus extends to the reduction of carbon footprint, rate which defines the environmental impact produced by the generation of GEI emissions. Calculate the footprint permits know the energy consumption derivative from our activity, and include corrective actions which permit the different companies reduce their emissions of CO2, like the regeneration of our fleet of vehicles to a more efficient and progressive implementation of the most advanced technologies which permit the reduction of GEI emissions.
The most representative societies of the business conglomerate of Monbus, following the international method of calculation “GHG Protocol”, based on the regulation ISO 14064, had already calculated their carbon footprint as part of the assumed commitment of reducing the Greenhouse gas (GEI) emission. This verification involves one more step on our eco-effective management, for identify new environmental improvements and reduce the emissions as well the energy consumption.
