Monbus sponsors a basketball court
This solidarity challenge began more than a year ago with the launch, by MMartinyca, of a collection of abarcas menorquinas with soles made with Bridgestone out-of-use and recycled tyres. With each sale of this share, a tyre is donated for the construction of basketball courts for children and young people at risk of social exclusion.
The first court of this project, which brings together three of the company's main values: social commitment, sustainability and sport, is now very close to becoming a reality. The cranes have begun to mark the 420 m2 of land to smooth it out and install the track that children of the NGO Holystic Pro-Africa will enjoy. This organization focuses its activity on three main areas: health, training and sport.
Monbus has, on a number of occasions, voiced its strong commitment to the environment and sustainability. In addition to participating in this type of solidarity actions, as part of its environmental policy, our company adopts everyday new measures to optimise energy consumption and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. In fact, it has several official certifications that underline this, such as the UNE-EN ISO 14064-1 that verifies greenhouse gas emissions reports; the UNE-ISO 50001 for energy management; the UNE-EN ISO 1400 for environmental management; and the EA 0050 for efficient driving; El sello Calculo+ Reduzco from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food and Environment, which allows organisations to demonstrate their participation in the National Carbon Footprint Register and, in the same way, it recognises the degree of effort undertaken in the fight against climate change; and the adhesion to the Voluntary Agreement Programme promoted by the OCCC.
