Monbus celebrates Galicia Literature Day
Monbus joins the celebration of the Galician Literature Day this 17 May republishing a story of the author honoured, Antón Fraguas, entitled O conto de Serafín. O Santuario da Franqueira written for the collection ‘Contos do Castromil’
From this week, Monbus will hang posters in the main stations of Galicia in honour of Antón Fraguas and passengers will receive a bookmarker designed to commemorate this special day. This present includes two QR codes for users to download this text of the author from Cotobade in both digital format and audiobook.
Conto do Serafín. O Santuario da Franqueira tells one of the short stories that this character knew, the short story of a blind person, apart from one of most curious legends that surrounds the Santuario de la Franqueira in A Cañiza: la del soldado, el moro y la Virgen de la Franqueira.
This story was one of short stories included in the collection ‘Contos do Castromil’ published in the 90s by this company and later become part of Monbus. This campaign was useful to name buses of the company with names of distinguished personalities of Galicia. (Rosalía de Castro, Otero Pedrayo, Castelao…).
This collection of 30 short texts original of galician writers, an initiative promoted by the Association of civil servants for Linguistic Normalisation. Published by Ir Indo, a total of 450.000 copies were distributed between 1992 and 1994.
Last year Monbus republished in digital format one the publication of this collection to celebrate Galicia Literature Day. Querida avoa of the writer María Victoria Moreno (honoured last year) was distributed among passengers in Galicia during May.
