The Monbus Obradoiro makes history in Valencia
The Monbus Obradoiro adds a new milestone to its history with the first victory on the court of the Valencia Basket (87-94). Galician team conquered La Fonteta for the first time in the Endesa League thanks to a great second half in which they had to overcome to take the ninth triumph of the season.
Local team had a good shot and that allowed them to take the initiative in the first moments of the match. The answer came from the hand of Simons and Hlinason (21-14).
Kostas Vasileiadis offered its best version. The Greek was, along with David Navarro, the one in charge of destroying the defence of the Valencian team so that Monbus Obradoiro got halftime with the same options (46-39).
Back from halftime, the Valencia Basket came out to break the match, but Obradoiro team did not allow them. Brodziansky got on top and Vasileiadis joined him in attack (68-64).
Brodziansky opened the last quarter with a three-point shot that raised doubts in the local team and definitely equalised the match. First Pepe Pozas and then a three point shot of David Navarro put Monbus Obradoiro ahead. The catalan player increased the distance with a shot before the match ended from the free throw line in the last minutes.
The Monbus Obradoiro will play next 2nd March at 18:00h against the Cafés Candelas Breogán (known as “derbi gallego”).
