Obradoiro was closed to perfection before Barcelona
The show came back to Multiusos Fontes do Sar. Monbus Obradoiro forced FC Barcelona Lassa to work hard in order to achieve a victory that was in the air until the last second (73-76).
Catalonian team arrived to Santiago after winning the King’s Cup in Gran Canaria, but Monbus Obradoiro was not going to make things easy. The team of players led by Moncho Fernández started with an euphoric Bendzius who made four three-pointer in the first quarter (21-12).
Barcelona team, led by Thomas Heurtel, took the lead of the game. Monbus Obradoiro realised that its advantage on the scoreboard went down (31-34).
After half-time, the game continued as before. Monbus Obradoiro did not come down and the players moved up a gear headed by
David Navarro. From that moment,
Radovic and Bendzius showed glimmers of hope when the game was in a decisive stage (
57-59).
Monbus Obradoiro had opportunities to take advantage, but bad decisions showed up at key moments. Visiting team did not fail and Tomic player, as the executing arm, was essential to finish the game. Twenty seconds left and the Catalonian team already felt like the winner with seven points ahead. Then,
Matt Thomas showed up to add emotion. The American player made
two three-pointer which changed the scoreboard only three seconds to the end. Galician team run out of time and, after the two free throws scored by the Catalonian team, they tried to take the game to extra time. Finally, Sar applauded the excellent work against the winner of the King’s Cup.
