Monbus celebra el Día de la Mujer Trabajadora
Monbus celebrates the International Working Women’s Day giving a special role to the real protagonists, all professional women who are part of our staff.
In Monbus there is no place for inequality and a good evidence of this is the high number of women employees. Besides, Monbus opts for recruiting more women in this sector typically represented by men.
For that reason and on the occasion of this day, the company wanted to know the personal experience of one of its employees on behalf of the rest of colleagues. She is Loly, who works for Rialsa, one of the companies of Monbus, based in Ferrol, Galicia. Loly has been working as a driver for more than 15 years, she is an example of the effort to pave the way in a male sector. Her story begins as a personal challenge, she wanted to show her family and specially to her brother, that there are not gender differences in terms of driving, showing with proud her driving license.
Since then and after a decade working as a driver our protagonist represents a change of attitude in society with regard to women drivers, although some prejudices have not been eliminated yet. Loly remembers a special anecdote when a woman didn’t want to get on the bus because of her, but on the return journey the passenger had to admitted that she was delighted with her.
Loly encourages women to fight and break down social stereotypes in order to make society more gender equal.
Congratulations to all women!
