A bus will travel around Galicia and other communities in search of signatures in order to declare Ribeira Sacra a World Heritage site
The promotional bus, decorated with Ribeira Sacra images, will travel around all Galician geography and part of Spanish geography in search of signatures to support this nomination during 2013 and 2014. The bus will offer information about the region to show the secrets and charms of this natural paradise.
Representatives of the different organizations, together with the mayor of the city José López Orozco and other public figures of some city councils that belong to Ribeira Saca, came to the presentation event which took place at St. Marcos Square in Lugo.
Being aware that there is a hard road ahead, Provincial Deputation President, José Ramón Gómez Besteiro, encourage us to “work together”, the Administration as well as the citizens, and emphasized that “union” will be essential to achieve the goal. Following his criteria, José López Orozco believes that all together can achieve this goal, pointing out that Ribeira Sacra has all the necessary characteristics to be declared World Heritage Site.
The person in charge of Monbus Marketing Department, Alba López Novoa, emphasizes the importance of “bringing people, families, nations and countries together”. This is their main reason to join this initiative, thus, the region will be closer to the world.
