Phase 0 in Monbus services
Phase 0 of the Plan for the Transition to a New Normality designed by the Spanish Government starts this Monday, May 4. The main measures applied to public transport are related to the mandatory use of masks and limiting bus occupancy to half of the available seats.
Mandatory use of masks
The main novelty applied to public passenger transport is the mandatory use of masks that cover nose and mouth. All users of transport services must wear them during their journeys.
In the same way, driving staff must continue to maintain the safety measures adopted so far, such as the use of masks and hydroalcoholic gels for frequent hand hygiene.
Half occupancy
In the use of public transport, the main objective is for users to keep as much distance from each other as possible. To this end, regular services on which all passengers must be seated may not occupy more than half of the seats available in relation to the maximum permitted. In addition, the row behind the seat occupied by the driver shall always be kept empty.
In the case of urban transport, where there are spaces available for standing passengers, care will also be taken to ensure that people maintain a safe distance. This, the reference of occupying half of the available seated places and two passengers per square metre in the standing area will be maintained.
As has been occurring since the beginning of the state of alert, Monbus will closely follow the evolution of the current health situation and the recommendations received from public administrations to update the security measures to be implemented in their services.
