Monbus supports circular economy
Monbus reaffirms its commitment to the environment by joining the Treaty on Circular Economy.
It is a pioneering initiative in Europe promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food and Environment and the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness, which aims to involve the main economic and social agents of Spain in the transition towards a new economic model. A model that focuses on the conservation of products, materials and resources in the economy for as long as possible and minimizes the production of waste.
In accordance with these principles, Monbus is committed to promoting the transition to a circular economy through actions such as:
• Promoting the reduction of the use of non-renewable natural resources.
• Promote the analysis of the life cycle of products and the incorporation of ecodesign criteria, reducing the introduction of harmful substances in their manufacture, facilitating the reparability of the goods produced, prolonging their useful life and enabling their recovery at the end of it.
• Promote the effective implementation of the principle of hierarchy of waste, promoting the prevention of waste generation, encouraging re-use, recycling and their traceability.
• Promote guidelines that increase innovation and the overall efficiency of production processes, through the adoption of measures such as the implementation of environmental management systems.
• Promote innovative forms of sustainable consumption, including sustainable products and services, as well as the use of digital infrastructures and services.
• Promote a model of responsible consumption, based on the transparency of information about the characteristics of goods and services, their durability and energy efficiency, through the use of measures such as the use of the eco-label.
• Raise awareness about the importance of moving from the linear economy towards a circular economy, promoting the transparency of the processes and the awareness of the citizens.
With its union to this initiative, Monbus wants to take another step in its fight against Climate Change, as it did when joined the Program of Voluntary Agreements of the Catalan Office for Climate Change (OCCC) and with the achievement of the stamp Calculo + Reduzco, from the National Carbon Footprint Registry.
